It's amazing how quickly people forget the catastrophe we faced only 18 months ago.

There were only two options when Obama took office:

1) be fiscally conservative and allow the staggering pace of job losses and home foreclosures to continue until the economy implodes

2) increase fiscal spending to return the economy to growth thereby stemming job losses and restoring confidence among lenders, business and consumers

Neither option is highly desirable but plan B is your best chance to turn things around. America will next move to inflate away its obligations which it was destined to do anyway even without the Obama deficits. Inflation is a small price to pay for the wrongdoings of the past. At least Americans will be working. Our buying power will be reduced but Americans already spend too much anyways.
