Effing clock management. Six losses in a row.

Whomever it is that keeps saying that Norv is smart, is an offensive genius, or a genius of any kind, lacks knowledge in the NFL, football, game preparation, and CLOCK MANAGEMENT.

Yeah, Norv even tells us today that he knows what he's doing, knows how to prepare, etc, etc. - NORV! NO YOU DON'T!

Chargers = NO FUN.

Norv, ask Tebow what to do. said...

/this site needs a "norvometer" where his face is like that of a watch face and his hands have a watch in one and the red challenge flag in the other. And the perplexed look on his little spackled face. Yes, that would be good.

Norv, just go eat shit. That's what all Chargers fans have had to do every week while being made fun of for being a Charger's fan, by fans of teams that actually win games, like freaking Denver.

2009 playoffs: 0-1
2010 season: Does not qualify.
2011 season: Losing record.

According to Nick Canapa from the San Diego Union Tribune, Norv "is" fired and will be leaving at the end of the season. We hope so.

He's not leaving empty handed, but the Chargers team overall, is left pretty much trashed, due to Norv not leaving sooner. He's still here through the end of the season, and the way the fans' luck has been running - we don't yet have proof Norv is leaving until he pulls away from the Chargers parking lot.

We can only hope.

This is all Mike Lynn's fault. Lynn was the GM of the Vikings who traded a Kings ransom of players and draft picks to the Cowboys for Herschel Walker. The overabundance of talent that the Cowboys acquired, made Jimmy Johnson, Dave Wanstedt, and Norv look like geniuses. What has any of them been able to accomplish since? Jimmy failed with Miami. Wannstedt has been an absolute joke of a head coach at numerous pro and college stops. I don't have to tell you what Norv's history has been. These three men have lived off the fruits of the Herschell trade for the past 20 years. When are people going to realize that they caught lightning in a bottle? It does not take a genius to hit the lottery!!

Norv, on why Ryan Mathews came out of the game:

“He came out and I don’t know why he came out. We’re in the middle of the drive. I assumed when he came out that he came out for a play and then he didn’t go back in.”

Some offensive genius Norv is. If he was really as good at playcalling on offense as people claim, wouldn't he know when he didn't have the personnel needed for his specific playcalling? Norv is an idiot. Fire him, fire AJ, fire Manusky, hire Cowher... NOW!!!

Uninspired said...

I can only imagine how boring and uninspiring his pre and post game speeches are. The best players and coaches treat each game like a battle for their life. Why would anyone want Norv leading them into battle. He has lost this team and will never regain it after his cowardly approach to the Denver game.[p

Hello my name is John Gruden, I would like the job, But I will have to have some accommodations met first. 1st and foremost AJ Smith and Norv turner must be tarred and feathered on live tv on a barge in the san Diego bay. 2nd I will need an open check to recruit the people I need, and third I will need a trophy case builder that can build a case for nearly half a dozen or so Lombardy's in the next 10 or so years.

If all of the above requirements are met, Please call me.

Thank you

The rapid decline of Chargers football is definitely at the hands of Dean Spanos. First of all, why did you hire Norv Turner in the first place?!?!? Seriously?!?! I mean, I know AJ Smith is calling the shots and wanted to hire someone who would be his puppet and always keep his mouth shut, but really? You have nothing to say?

It's only obvious to anyone who watches the Chargers that they have been slowly declining ever since Turner was hired. The only reason we did well in the playoffs his first year is because he was still riding the coattails of Marty's coaching, and it's been showing year after year... SO WHY THE HELL DID SPANOS EXTEND NORV'S CONTRACT AFTER WE MISSED THE PLAYOFFS LAST YEAR?!?! UGGHHH!!!!!

Being a Chargers fan is so damn frustrating. I feel like I care more about what happens with the team than the front office and the owner! AJ Smith doesn't give a shit whether we win or lose, so long as everyone "knows their place." What a joke.

I can hardly watch anymore. In last week's game against the Broncos, why the hell did we stop at the end of the half? With almost a full minute left, and a timeout, and on 2nd down, Norv just decides there's no point in trying, let's just go to the locker room. WTF WAS THAT?!?!?!

When MORON A.J. let Marty go (which was nothing but a personal vendetta not for the betterment of the team) everyone knew Norv was a horrible choice but for some damn reason Spanos did not see it. If there was a brain in his head he would kick A.J. and Norv to the curb and restructure. The only thing that makes any sense to me, as foolish as it sounds, is they are trying to sabotage the Chargers. I mean a retard could see this years ago...

According to its official, Norv is done and AJ is next. He is supposed to coach out the rest of the year though which I find really weird. Well firenorv, I can't say it's been fun but it has been entertaining

Anonymous said...

Norv is gone! OR will be gone! Yay!

They are saying A.J. has strong ties to the Raiders.

Bout time they flushed that TURD down the toilet.

AJ needs to go in round two.

Great site. Been coming here for a few seasons. So now that your site has accomplished its mission, what's next??

Hey, until we see Norv gone, let's not get ahead of ourselves - when he's really gone, then we can celebrate.

Here's an article where the writer believes it is unfair to fire Norv
(probably a Raiders fan).

According to Dean Spanos, "he's going to evaluate the team, including the manager and the coaches, after the season ends". Here is a clip of tonight's interview before the game.

Charger Fans, I ask you to join me in a Occupy Fire Norv & A.J Protest in front of the Charers Headquartes. Our demands are simple, we are tired of losing close games. We want a head coach and GM that have won the Super Bowl. There are several candidates that are available. When are demands are met, we will leave quietly knowing the Chargers are going to the Super Bowl. Also, we demand that team gives us all the free gear, food, and beer that we want.
Thank you for your support.

WTF? Commentator says "Norv didn't have any idea what was going to happen in this game. The Chargers gave 305 yards to Detroit in the first half. Not even Tim Tebow could help in this situation.

Ugh, all I want for Christmas is a real head coach, a good head coach, a winning head coach. Yeah, all I want for Christmas is a real head coach, one that helps our team win big!

Is there seriously any question Norv is out? I think the only question is if AJ is going with him. Cie La Vie Norvy

2011 Season: Losing record

The fans called BS from the very first day that Norv was hired as coach. Yet in the days, weeks, months and years that followed you always heard front office and the minority of fans belittle the masses for being "uninformed". That somehow AJ and co were way smarter than the rest of us. Well no surprise to most of us that this has ended up EXACTLY THE WAY WE THOUGHT IT WOULD. How is it that the so called experts are blind to what the "uninformed" can see so clearly? The only way for Spanos to get this egg off of his face is to remove the cancer of AJ Smith and revamp the entire front office. The charade is officially over. Time to grow some balls and do what you should have done 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 years ago.

A.J. Smith was never hired as Chargers GM. He inherited the job after John Butler died.

Coincidentally, A.J. Smith is the first in line to become new Raiders GM after Al Davis died.

There's irony for you. The guy can't get a job unless the predecessor dies.

anger in the wrong place. aj smith is the one who has got to go.

Norv is great. Gives less talented division opponents a shot every year. Long live Norv!

With a cancer patient in my family, I can't stand to see Norv called a cancer.

So, will Norv be fired? Or will both Norv and A.J. be fired?

Which NFL coaches will be a good fit for the new Chargers coach?

Alas, the end of another brutal season has come. This 5 year project has proven to be a disaster. Time to fire Norv and AJ and move on. The team continues to get worse every year and next year isn't worth watching with these idiots at the helm. Dean better grow some balls and stop finding excuses to keep them around.

Dear Spanos Family:

Thank you for your kind loyalty to Norv Turner! Without it, life would have been so much more difficult for us these past few years.

Many thanks for your thoughtfulness & generosity.

How bout Cowher or Belotti to replace?

The Chargers have been on a steady decline year after year since the moment Turner arrived. Yet Spanos appears on the verge of keeping both of these morons (Norv & AJ). The guy is the biggest pussy I have ever seen. Instead of taking an objective look at what has happened, he finds ways to convince himself that these guys are worth keeping so he doesn't have to make a hard decision. This guy is a born loser. His father was a hard working man and gifted this team to an unworthy embarrassment of a son. Dean, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Get Norv out of NOW!!!!

The niners wanted a winner and now they have one with first year head coach, Jim Harbaugh.

F******G Chargers. Now, people act as if Norv should stay after five years of this shit.

Turner, Smith to return
Posted 1 hour ago
aaSan Diego Chargers Chairman of the Board & President Dean Spanos today officially ended speculation and confirmed that General Manager A.J. Smith and Head Coach Norv Turner will return in 2012.

“Bottom line, I believe these two men give us the best chance to get back to the playoffs,” Spanos said. “A.J. Smith is the best man to improve our roster, and Norv Turner is the best man to lead that roster on the field.

“Together, we have stability and experience that’s hard to find in the NFL. They’ve both been in this league a long time. I don’t think there is anything they haven’t seen or experienced. They’ve led us through some difficult situations.

“As we’ve seen throughout Norv’s tenure and particularly this past season, the players believe in him, respect him and play hard for him. When we went through that tough stretch, no one quit. The team kept playing hard, and that’s a tribute to Norv’s leadership and the respect the players have for him.

“Now we will take a hard look at everything, from player evaluation to coaching to the rash of injuries we’ve suffered in recent years. Injuries have killed us. And no one is ever perfect in this business. Player evaluation isn’t an exact science. We need to improve across the board and I’m going to make sure we do.

“We all have our quirks and faults, but I want A.J. and Norv on my side. They are the right men to help us win a championship.”

During Smith’s nine-year tenure as general manager (2003-11), the Chargers have won 88 games and five AFC West titles. Only three teams (New England, Indianapolis and Pittsburgh) have won more games or division titles during that time. During the three seasons prior to Smith’s appointment, the Chargers struggled to a 13-35 record. Smith’s 91 overall wins in nine seasons rank second in team history among general managers, just one win behind Sid Gilman’s 92 wins in 11 seasons.

Since Turner took over as head coach, he has earned an impressive 52-34 overall record (including 3-3 in the postseason), the highest overall winning percentage in franchise history (.605). Other impressive numbers during Turner’s tenure include San Diego’s record in December/January under Turner (21-3), record after Nov. 1 (32-12), and record versus the AFC West (21-9). Only six teams have won more playoff games during that time and only five teams have made more postseason appearances.

“Despite the number of wins we’ve had, the net bottom line is it doesn’t mean anything unless you win a championship,” Spanos said. “That’s our goal and I am committed to winning a Super Bowl for San Diego.”

Norvamania is back for at least another season. Bwahahahahaha, losers!

What happened to that asshole who kept predicting that the Chargers would have a losing season this year? Well, they didn't. In fact, the Chargers have NEVER had a losing season under Norv.

Norv is back, bitches!

Norv will be the Chargers' head coach FOREVER!

Crap!!!!! Are you freaking kidding me?!! Spanos is either a complete moron, or he is actively trying to complete the destruction of the franchise to help expedite the move to L.A.

I simply refuse to watch another season of that cottage cheese-faced loser occupying the sideline of the team I once loved.

I have also officially had it with Rivers. I question his desire to win, his ability to lead, and his judgement. How he continues to campaign for Norv is beyond me.

Best of luck, LOSERS!!! Rot in mediocrity. said...

Well, maybe it's time to cancel my season tix..what's the point of watching a class-A QB go down get old and fade away?!! Where's the CONSISTENCY we were promised when Norv came aboard?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What does the San Diego community think about then getting Andy Reid? That's the big rumor around here lately. I live about 20 minutes from the stadium. They still suck. I lost all respect for Reid and the eagles the split second Vick was hired. I have been a Chargers fan for a long time. I miss Junior a lot as he was and always will be one of my favorites. What do you guys think? Thanks. FIRE NORV!!!!
