Way to jump on my Chargers "out all night story" and not give credit Union Tribune and 1090.
OH well. But I have to say that Kevin Acee's lets write a story about a non story to not make it a story was pretty smart.
I didnt make a big deal out of knowing they were out withing 30 some hours of a playoff game (or any game for that matter. Lets get real. They are professionals right?) Because I didnt want to detract from the game.
But really now folks. Kevin. Anyone who goes out for an all nighter that close to a huge event in their career or life has a problem. A drinking problem.
I know. I did the same thing but I was a musician and had a crappy job so the consequences were just me trying to hide from customers and downing some greasy sandwiches. If I was an athlete or had a job of ANY consequences I knew to lay off the booze.
Maybe they need some AA in the Chargers park. We can deny it had anything to do with their performance and I normally don't comment on drunk Chargers on game weekends but this was a playoff game.

Acee has his head up his a$$. And sucks up to the Chargers at every opportunity whether it be management or players. That article was a complete joke. I don't really think this was the big story he was making it out to be and even if it was I'm not sure why he needs to act like the almighty defender of the team. The only objective thing that Acee has said in the last while is that LT needs to go. And he only said that because he knows that it is a done deal so no need to suck up to LT anymore. The Chargers blew the best opportunity they have had since the Pats playoff game and its the coach first and foremost who is responsible. So is AJ. And so are the players who have a habit of letting their personal lives divert from the team's performance. Whether that was on Friday before the game or at various times throughout the season. It's no accident that guys like Phillips and Cromartie were major contributors to the loss on Sunday. Oddly enough, if I find out Nate Kaeding were out drinking before the game I may have a little more respect for him.
NORVAMANIA!
It`s nice to see Acee getting blasted on his article. That was a sad excuse for journalism.
Those F*ing Chargers beat themselves.
This is just ANOTHER example of the lack of discipline and respect that many of the Chargers have for their coach (who sucks) and for the team and the City of San Diego.
Norvamania, my ass! He is not a Head Coach and this is another illustration of the lack of maturity on the team.
I thought the article sucked.
It made me sick to my stomach to watch our last game against the Jets.
I hope that Indy beats the crap out of them.
I like Dean Spanos alright, but I am sure disappointed in the decision to extend Norv.
Insult after injury. Self inflicted, too.
Good day, sun shines!
There have been times of troubles when I felt unhappy missing knowledge about opportunities of getting high yields on investments. I was a dump and downright stupid person.
I have never thought that there weren't any need in large initial investment.

Oh how it sucks to watch this AFC Championship without the Chargers!
Finally some stellar journalism posted by the San Diego Union-Tribune...

Anonymous above who gave the link to the BROMANCE story - THANK YOU!
A quote "Turner has the best winning percentage in Chargers history.
Well, why wouldn’t he? At 14-2, the Chargers were one of the most talented teams in the league when Turner took over and few coaches have been given the keys to a juggernaut like that right off the bat. I could be wrong, but I think a dancing bear could go 8-8 with this team. Which, if you recall, Turner did last year".
Couldn't agree more.
F**k YOU NORV Turner!
This is exactly why we are sitting here - bummed out - that the Chargers aren't going to the Super Bowl.
They fired Marty at 14 -2 and that guy had passion and disciplined the team.
They hand over Marty's 14 -2 team to good 'ol boy Norv who promptly screws them up, but with all of that talent, the Chargers some how manage to win the division title with an 8 - 8 record. Denver, with a similar record, fires an excellent head coach who now will be coaching the Redskins. What do the Chargers do?
After a bitter, bitter loss, they RESIGN gool ol' boy Norv for three more years.
That SUCKS!
Commenters, please use some name so that responders, such as me, can get back to you, or have a discussion.
So, BITE ME NORV.
MOrgino, thanks for that bit!
Very funny (now that we are OUt).
They're back!!!!
Norv and Nate coming to the Pro-Bowl this weekend.
Let's see what Norv does with all of this talent.
Run the ball up the middle on first down - check.
Run the ball exactly the same way - check.
Pass on third down - check.
Punt.
Bite me Norv, why was it okay for Marty's 14-2 team to lose in the playoffs but not okay for Norv's 13-3 team to lose in the playoffs?
To Anonymous above, redirect this question to A.J.
why was it okay for Marty's 14-2 team to lose in the playoffs but not okay for Norv's 13-3 team to lose in the playoffs?
What do you think A.J.?
Why did AJ fire Marty at 14-2 yet sign Norv to a 3 year-extension after going 13-3? Why???
aj is too stubborn and dumb to fire his boy norv, as a consequence, one that was long foreseen by anybody with a brain.. this chargers squad will never amount to anything and only get worse.
norv gets credit by people in the nfl because he has been at it for so long so he's respected and they don't want to insult him, but anybody who has watched him over the years knows he is one of the worst head coaches and he just got lucky to inherit this team and a great already developed qb in rivers. a team that would have already won one or two superbowls if they had a competent hc.
he's even overrated as an oc, he was the oc for my fav team the dolphins and did nothing great for them while he was there. seems like people who had a part in dallas' run in the early nineties get overrated jimmy johnson was the only guy worth anything among them, wannestedt was another joke at the hc level.
Marty wasn't fired because they lost in the playoffs, people. He was fired for being an asshole.
but that was his best attribute. at least he seemed to have relatively good control of his players. seams like the chargers have turned into a bunch of hoodlums since norv came.
Marty was NOT an asshole.
Agree with bobdog and above.
The current team has too many undisciplined guys.
If there was more discipline, there would have been fewer large penalties in our playoff game against the Jets.
It is obvious that the team lacked focus with the slow start last year and this year and that the team doesn't have the best leader in the HC position.
If I remember, the Chargers played a very undisciplined game against the Patriots in the '06 playoffs with Marty as coach. It was a game that they should have won.
Marty didn't get along with management; that's why he was fired. Norv gets along with everybody.
Okay, Obozo's been president for over a year. It's his mess now. Obozo sucks. He gave an crappy petulant speech on Wednesday. He's finished. One term and done, and the GOP is going to kick ass this November. Bwahahahahaha!

It's Norvamania at the Pro Bowl, being that the Chargers were the highest AFC seed to lose in the divisional round.
Norvamania!
Hmmmmm,
I don't see ANY Norvamania at the ProBowl.
Must be on another channel.
Jon Gruden just praised Norv Turner as a GREAT offensive coach. Yup. It's Norvamania.
It looks like the AFC is going to win. NORVAMANIA!
This game doesn't count.
The game that the Chargers wanted to be in is being played NEXT week.
Just say no to "Norvamania".
I'm tired of waiting to get to the Super Bowl.

Sadly, L.T.'s comments illustrate the lack of discipline and lack of leadership in the Chargers lockeroom.
Norv might be able to come up with some plays, but he is not HEAD
COACH material.
I say this every year but I really think I am going to tone down my feelings for the Chargers from now on. After LT's comment and with him leaving I don't know if I can continue the facade that the players even give a shit about the team or for that matter the city of San Diego. We all know that most football players are self obsessed but you know what, can you at least ACT like your not?! If I have something important to do at work I don't go out partying before, if I had a town of 2 million relying on me I can't imagine caring so little that I would go to Vegas or fuggin Stingaree before the game. Makes me ill.
First of all, San Diego County has 3.4 million people here.
L.T.'s message to me, was aimed at Cromartie and Norv Turner.
If the Chargers had a stronger Head Coach, he would kick some butts and get the team to BE A TEAM.
I don't blame L.T. for being bitter. We should have won that Jets game. All of those personal fouls were symptoms of what L.T. was talking about.
Chargers' fans, the Colts are about to show you how it's done. Watch, and learn.
Fire Norv!
Norv has been on fire long before this! His face caught fire years ago and they put the fire out with ice picks.
Well, so much for the Colts showing how it's done. I have a little gripe though. Because of the onside kick, the Saints have had two more possessions than the Colts. That's not fair. The pick was Manning's fault, though.
Well, I guess that Manning will never match Brady in Super Bowl rings. This was his last chance to catch Brady. Now Manning still has two fewer rings than Brady. The Colts' defense played terribly in the final three quarters.
Manning played well, but Brees played better.
Not a very competitive Super Bowl. All Saints, from the second quarter on.
The Saints are champs. Colts blew it.
Fire Caldwell. The Colts should have won that game. Manning's a one-ringer, just like Favre.
One ring is nothing to be ashamed up. More than we have here in San Diego. Thanks Norv!
Congratulations to Drew Brees and the Saints.
Very cool!
Yet another ex-Charger who has a Super Bowl win.
In the last several years, it's pretty obvious that the "big four" teams in the AFC are the Patriots, Steelers, Colts, and Chargers. Unfortunately, the Chargers are the only one of those four that hasn't won at least one Super Bowl. Come on, Chargers; step up.
Steve Young said that Manning's INT wasn't his fault. If so, then I'd have to say that Peyton got let down by his teammates. The Colts' defense was pretty awful from the second quarter on.
I am bare impressed with the article I have just read. I wish the author of www.firenorv.net can continue to provide so much productive information and unforgettable experience to www.firenorv.net readers. There is not much to say except the following universal truth: death kills, beware I will be back.
Goodbye, L.T.
We still love you and will MISS you here in San Diego................
LT gone and this nice bit of info about Jackson. Can't wait til next year! ;-(

Thanks for the memories, L.T., but fear not, Charger fans. NORVAMANIA will live on!
Fuck Norvamania, man. Did you not listen to L.T.'s farewell speech?
Norv IS one of the problems on the team. Get a clue.
L.T., you are awesome. We will miss you!
Hey, time to update the site with the retirement of L.T. #21.
NORVAMANIA!
SIGN TERREL OWENS.
Owens is a cancer, and he's old. Please DON'T sign Owens. This team that already has problems with playing their best football will have even more problems with that loudmouth piece of shit.
