ALL Rivers

Man. Do you really want to do the ol' "run Sproles up the middle.com" play when your on the 5 and its 3rd down? Your punter already has enough room to kick. Why in the hell dont you go for the 3rd down conversion with a pass?

OK. Norv didnt call a bad game. Rivers carried the team in the last 2 minutes in typical fashion. Maybe the Chargers should run a 2 minute offense the entire game?

The Chargers have been coached downhill but managed to come away with the win after almost Snatching defeat from the jaws of Victory.

The most telling stat was when they showed LT's seasons from 2006 to present. Norvs first year saw a 50% reduction each year he has been coach for LT's touchdowns. Meaning each year Norv has been coach the Chargers production AND record has gotten half as good as the previous year. Half as many LT touchdowns. Half as many wins etc.

You cant argue with STATS AJ. If any sane person evaluates the Chargers they have gotten worse each year Norv has been the head coach.

Plain and simple.

But THIS was a good win against a not so good Giants team now. But beating NY and E-Cry Manning is alwasy EXTRA rewarding.

Thanks for whining and pouting about playing in lovely San Diego Manning Douches.
Its Christmas early and Ill take Rivers any day of the week.

All right baby!

L.T. = LOSING TIME, you stupid asshole GIANTS fans!

Way to go RIVERS! Way to go CHARGERS!

Was it just me, or does Phil Simms seem East Coast biased?

He whined about the Ginat's missed filed goal during the entire first half.

I think the Chargers still need to improve, but the win is awesome!

E Cry Manning!!!

That little jerks face said it all for us.

So worth it.

Man, that stupid look on eli's face is priceless. 4 straight losses and the down syndrome look is getting critical now. Your team sucks and that last loss will probaly cost you a chance to lose to the Eagles in the first round again.

Eli sucks said...

Let's not give credit to Norv, the offensive coordinator. (Chargers don't have a Head Coach). But, let's give credit to Rivers and Jackson and all of the other players that pulled this win off.

Classic look on Eli's face at the end.

Thanks Chargers for making us happy for this victory!

Eli' aw shucks face makes it all worth it. If the donks lose all the sudden we aren't lookin to bad

Peter King pointed out in his MMQB article that there was poetic justice that two players we got in the Eli trade threw the tying TD, and kicked the winning PAT.

I think, rather than hating on Eli, we should all thank him for refusing to play for the Chargers. Best thing that ever happened to us.

Downs syndrom faced Eli, thanks so much for the NY fun!

Actually, it was most the Giants D who gave us this, but Rivers deserves major credit.

Way to go Chargers!

Finally, a great statement win, and we're in what year exactly of the Norv era? You're telling me we couldn't win like this in the regular season under Norv until *now*?

Anyway, Philip Rivers has now proven, without any shadow of a doubt, that he is better than ShEli. Way to go Bolts for picking up the gritty win IN SPITE OF Norv.

Anonymous said...

Agree with above comment. The Chargers won in SPITE of Norv. But, the Chargers dont really have a normal HC situation. They have an offensive coordinator - that being Norv.

i fuckin hate norv and crew, lets take these guys down, aggressive badgering, shit talking, vandalism, hate crimes, verbal abuse, lets run these fucks outa town, key that fuckers car, egg his house, lets get every 10-13 year old so cal kid out there fuckin with norvs daily life, every game hecklers, we WERE 14-2 are we gona let norv ruin it all, fuck no, i wana run on the field piss in his gatoraide

norvsucks said...

Norv DOES suck, but we will take any wins, however we get them.

Way to go Denver - you lost at home.

We now how a chance again for playoffs.

You guys need to give Norv, Rivers, and Jackson the game ball for this one. Even Rivers said in the post game interview that they have been practicing this type of drive every week and he was ready for it.

Of course we'll be 14-2 with the team we had that year...we still had Marty to skrew that shit up in the post season. At least Norv has given us post season victories.

Skrew Norv haters.

Norv still sucks. We won in spite of him.

See, even when the Chargers win, nobody gives Norv credit. Also, the Chargers are not getting worse every year. They weren't 5-3 through eight games last season. They're actually better this year and have a good chance of winning the division now that the Broncos have been exposed as pretenders. Go Chargers! Go Norv! The head coach in the NFL who should be fired is Mike Singletary. He fucking sucks. The Niners need to hire an offensive mind like Holmgren or Shanahan if they ever want to be good again. Their offense has been complete shit with defensive-minded head coaches, and Jimmy Raye is a fucking joke.

As the U-T says today, the fans HERE in SAN DIEGO love to hate Norv.

Yep, you got THAT right.

Here's the UT article...funny how these editorials change their mind more than broads on the rag.

Norv still sucks. The fact that we are 5-3 is irrelevant. This year we have had the benefit of playing the raiders twice and the chiefs once which used to be guaranteed wins but this year we were lucky to win. Last year we only played the raiders once in the first 8 games, didn't play the chiefs. The year before we played them each once. The bottom line is that the chargers are lucky to be 5-3 this year and it is only a result of a soft schedule. They are my favourite team and I hate to speak badly about them but anyone who has watched the games objectively can conclude that they lack discipline and are nothing compared to the team Norv inherited. They should have been much better now, especially since the core group of players has remained the same. Just because they won 3 games in a row means nothing. The Giants win was encouraging and I hope they manage to improve like they did the last 2 years but we sure have our work cut out for us. Norv is a disaster and his track record speaks for itself. I'll be happy for him if he pulls a rabbit out of the hat but I doubt it. I want him gone after this season.

Get Norv gone!

The fact that he is a head coach (alledgedly) anywhere is worrisome at best, scary in reality.

The Giants win made me have some hope. Denver probably won't lose again this weekend, so let's hope that the Chargers beat Philadelphia, who is coming off of a bad loss to Dallas at home.

Norv>Singletary. Sorry, but tough talk and dropping your pants at halftime don't make you a good head coach. It's obvious that the Niners are no better now than they were under Mike Nolan. Fire Singletary; hire Holmgren. Holmgren is actually a PROVEN SUCCESS as a head coach. Three trips to the Super Bowl, one Lombardi trophy. I'm sick and tired of the 49ers having the same shitty offense every year.

I don't know if these stats mean anything but they are intersting.

The team has invested more money — $13.346 million — in the pair than any team in the NFL has tied up in two running backs this season.

Through nine weeks (eight games), the Chargers are paying an astronomical $32,650 per touch by the duo, more than double what they paid their top two backs in 2007 or 2008 and almost four times what they paid in '06.

Even with Sproles' league-leading 1,397 all-purpose yards (938 on kick returns), the Chargers are paying $4,070 per yard gained by their two running backs.

Oh bore me norv said...

The running game, of lack of the running game is a HUGE problem for the Chargers right now.

They need to fix it and shore up the defense ASAP!

Go Chargers!

Wow! That Bears-Niners game sucked. I guess that the Bears wanted to lose just a little bit more though.

The game this weekend against the Eagles will show us what this team is about. Are we going to continue to improve? Or is our team going to Norv out?

Go Chargers!

Could it happen?

Well, we meet up with Michael Vick this Sunday.

Hopefully, we don't Norv out.

Go Chargers!

Please don't praise Norv after this game!

Bad clock management and running Sproles at the end zone.

Congratulations to L.T. for his passing Marcus Allen!

Way to go Chargers, BUT game's not over yet.

Anonymous said...

right now norv has the best winning % in franchise history.

Anonymous said...

Call the Chargers "Butter," 'cause they're on a roll!

Anonymous said...

See, it was too early to proclaim the "end of an era." The Chargers just beat the Giants and Eagles, and now they're playing the Broncos for first place. Go Norv! Say what you will about Norv. Yeah, the Chargers have gotten out to slow starts in each of Norv's three seasons as head coach, but they've always looked great coming down the stretch.

I hate the Patriots, but I can't help feeling sorry for Belichick. Go to espn.go.com. There's a sad picture of him on the home page. He's definitely the goat of last night's game, going on fourth down.

morgino said...

Feel sorry for Bellicheat? Never! The play call was total arrogance and it blew up in his face.
Can't wait til next week...the Broncos are sliding quick and the Chargers are on the rise!

norvsucks said...

Norv still sucks, but I will take the wins.

I think that Rivers, Gates, L.T. and the receiving corp has proved to be a great offense. Now, let's see the defense step up even more.

Go Bolts!

Anonymous said...

The officials gave the Browns four timeouts in the second half last night. Lol! What a screwup!

Anonymous said...

Norv called a good game. He keeps running Sproles up the middle on key short yardage situations, but other than that, he's doing alright. LT seems to be on the same page as Norv now and that's the key in my opinion.

Hopefully, Norv is setting up the opposition for later in the season or playoffs with those Sproles runs up the middle. I can see it happening, 4th and 1 with a playoff game on the line. Sproles comes in like he's going to run up the middle again. The crowd is calling Norv every bad name in the book because they know he's going to run the smallest RB in the NFL up the middle. Then bam! Playaction fake up the middle to Antonio Gates for the game winning touchdown.

It's going to happen. Mark these words.

Go Chargers!

I know most people dont like gimmicky plays but how sweet would an LT pass to Gates be against the Donks?
