OK. My positive thoughts on Norv Tuner and The Chargers have run out.
Just like the Broncos running away from the Chargers in this photo, so it is true for the two teams futures. Broncos UP. Chargers Down.
I think everyone now can agree the team is talented but that it has not been coached properly. Next year (or even maybe tomorrow) the team will look very different than it does today.
No more all talk Merriman and LT will surely retire or be traded or even released. Its possible both of them could be traded before Tuesday. Its too bad both players are not performing well this season and the once coveted Merriman probably wont be worth half what he was during the off season.
We got to see the Chargers go from the Team that couldnt win in the playoffs to the team that cant win in the regular season either.
AJ has to realize his folly in picking Norv Turner to run the Chargers. Who will he turn to next year? Jon Gruden? Bill Cowher? Or better yet..... Why should he wait until the season is over?
Lets hope he doesnt wait.

I am all for getting rid of norv but other than the ridiculous pulling of LT on the goaline I thought the game was coached pretty decent, some creative screens and at least a small running game. With that being said, bring on Chucky!
i agree. i've seen norv coach worse games. he didn't make any glaring mistakes except for maybe the sproles running play. it's more of a question of his leadership outside of gameday that i am concerned about. the team lacks discipline. they clearly picked it up a bit this week but the damage was done already early in the year.
AJ will continue to wait it out unfortunately in hopes of a miracle turnaround. for AJ its all about saving face. he is under the false belief that if he keeps denying that norv is a disaster that somehow the powers at be will believe him. but its actually hurting his cause. i think its obvious to everyone now that firing marty, hiring norv was a brutal fukup and worthy of getting canned. we here all knew it years ago, but now even the spanos' are forced to agree. AJ can save his job by stepping up to the plate and making a change. But he has proven incapable of swallowing his pride.
Norv and AJ "D-bag" Smith can take the same bus out of town!
Norval obviously needs to be fired, and I'm all for trading Merriman. This idea that I hear on ESPN about the "Era ending" like you wrote is ridiculous, though. Phillip Rivers is awesome and is looking like a future hall-of-famer...with a quaterback that good, we'll come back and be good for a while.
I am a loyal Patriots fan and a loyal Chargers fan. Yeah, I know, doesn't seem possible because of the hostility both fanbases have towards each other, but I always have loved both teams.
Every Sunday, though, I find myself split. When I watch the Pats play, I see a franchise that is more built for future success than any franchise in NFL history. There are no steroids like the Steelers of the '70s, no salary-cap circumvention like the 49ers of the '80s, and no drug use and attitude problems like the Cowboys of the '90s. The coaching, from top to bottom, is the best in league history. Regardless of whether or not you think Spygate is as bad as the media spins it, you have to admit that, for the past decade, the Pats have been the class of the league.
Then, I watch the Chargers, and I see the wheels coming off the bus in a city that should have celebrated a SB win by now. I also see the worst coaching in NFL history - a clueless, repetitive coach, a defensive coordinator that has only ever run the 4-3 before but is now running the 3-4, and an offensive coordinator that does not ever question the head coach's offensive decisionmaking. This is a team that would be undefeated under almost any other coach and any other coordinators, and there is no excuse for bad coaching with the likes of Gruden, Shanahan, Holmgren, and Cowher still without coaching jobs. When one examines the coaching staff, it's suddenly not so inexplicable that a team goes from 14-2 with the league's best defense to 8-8 every year with the league's worst defense. This is the first time in a long time that I have been worried about the Bolts, and hopefully that feeling doesn't last past the offseason.
Norv does not provide leadership, good planning, direction and when it comes to game planning and clutch plays, he's just not the man.
Bring on Jon Gruden!!!!!!!!!!!
If A.J. would suck it up and fire Norv, hire a coach that knows how to inspire, discipline, and actually coach the team, the era would not be over.
Fire Norv, hire Gruden and era is NOT over.
The Chargers cannot get to the SB with current coach and possibly, A.J.
We want a chance, Spanos!
Norv is cancer. He started off his master plan of ruining the chargers. But over time, he has taken a great team and turned them into underacheiving, undisciplined, and unmotivated players. The record is getting worse and he is getting close to his goal of ruining the team for a long time. Hope he is gone soon.
At this point, I think AJ has to go, too. If he can't make a change that obviously needs to be made, and aquire parts we obviously need, he's failing as a GM.
I think as far as AJ is concerned his decision to hire Norv was validated the minute Norv won a playoff game. AJ was further emboldened after last season when NORV got 2 wins. In AJ's eyes it shows THAT HE WAS RIGHT! Which means we're fuct!!
The only way Norv leaves is if Dean Spanos shit cans AJ and I don't see it happening. Do you?
Norv has got to go and A.J. must make that sacrifice.
Agree with several of the comments above, but bottom line is:
Norv has got to go.
Great breakdown avenger. You are spot on. Despite the teams decline, from day one, AJ has been able to hang his hat on those playoff wins. At least he won't be able to hide this year. We are fuct though. Spanos has no balls and will need another 5 years of losses before he can definitively feel good about canning AJ. At the very least, I hope AJ cuts his losses and decides on a new coach. Here's to hoping.
Norv Turner needs to GTFO of San Diego! We don't want him here!!!!! I'm not buying tickets again until he's gone!
Agree with above.
We are seriously fucked with Norv and A.J. has to make the cut. When is Gruden available?
The Redskins are probably coach shopping and it would really be nice if they could have Norv back, but that's really hoping.
Am I the only one who sees that LT avoids blocking. Seriously. He ducks the responsibility.
L.T. needs a better blocker as he had all of those years, but to me L.T. looked a lot more like old L.T. last night. He seemed to be getting going, then Norv made the stupid call with Sproles.
Denver beat us by 11 points. If Special Teams would have been awake, there would have been 14 points not given to Denver right there.
It is obvious that the Chargers are underperforming and for that, let's get out the Turbo Broom and get Norv the hell out of San Diego.
This is what your suck a** team gets for stealing the 49ers' offensive coordinator, and subsequently stunting the growth of the greatest football franchise in California. GO NINERS!!!
I guess you're still bitter over that whole '94 superbowl thing.
And I guess you're still bitter over the salary-cap cheating scandal, the sex party scandal, the refs deciding not to do any more huddles to give the 49ers favorable calls anymore, and the 49ers passing up Aaron Rodgers in favor of gimpy-arms Smith.
And I guess you're still bitter over the salary-cap cheating scandal, the sex party scandal, the refs deciding not to do any more huddles to give the 49ers favorable calls anymore, and the 49ers passing up Aaron Rodgers in favor of gimpy-arms Smith.
Whoa!!!!!!! After DeBartalo was banned from the NFL, the 49ers started to suck and go downhill while the front office was fighting and screwing up the team.
I'm not bitter about the Super Bowl loss in 94. I'm totally pissed off about the B.S. going on right NOW. In this decade - as in currently.
People voting down any chance for a new stadium in Mission Valley where the Chargers will pay for ALL of it and the City would OWN it. People can't understand that concept.
Next, the Chargers have absolutely been capable of moving into the Super Bowl for several years and management goes and hires Norv "the loser" Turner for a head coach.
That is what this S.D. fan is bitter about, if you want to call it bitter.
BTW, the Niners have always been my NFC team, San Diego is my AFC team. When they both suck, it gets tough.
At least the Niners are finally coming back, while right now, the Chargers, as Norv says, are in a deep hole.
Way to go Norv, you helped to dig that hole. Now, the team has a shitty defense AND your bonehead moves.
Norv is the second worst (Zorn is still coaching) and most overrated mind in the NFL. He has mis-used his talent over and over again. Players get fed up and stray. It always comes back to the coach. He is just another Marty with a looser neck. Bring in Chucky, Mooch or Shanny...PLEASE!!!!!
It's been too long as a Chargers fan for this to continue.
Man O Man, can't believe that Marty is being put in the same category as loser Norv Turner.
In any case, NORV SUCKS and should be kicked out of S.D.
We want Gruden!!!!
It is so much worse watching an ultra talented team lose than it was watching the crappy Chargers teams of the past lose. The expectations build the entire off-season only to be crushed by an absolute joke of a coach. Nice guy -- worst head coach of all time. Period.
What's worse is it probably won't change anytime soon. John Clayton is reporting that there will be no significant changes this year or next year. If this is true, that's it for me as a Charger fan after 30 years of following this team.
Gruden? Just one Raider castoff after another, huh? God, you dorks are on our nuts, aren't you? I seriously doubt Gruden would coach the Chargers, his inner fag can't be screaming that loudly.
Anybody who has seen the disturbing play of the Chargers this year knows that Norv Turner does not belong in his position of Head Coach.
To San Di-ego! Super Gay-wads,
What are you smoking? Inner Fag?
Get real, you dumb shit.
Gruden is a VERY good coach and has a winning record, as in going to the Super Bowl and winning it, at the time becoming the youngest head coach in the NFL to do so.
Prior to that, Gruden brought Oakland from the cellar to being the AFC Championship team.
San Diego can't have Gruden because he does not seem to be an ass kisser, which seems to be required here or just by being inept.
Oh, and to the people who like to bring up things such as "Norv is nice" Please give me a break!!!
These guys get paid a 7 figure salary to be a NFL Head Coach and there are only 32 of these jobs IN THE WORLD.
It sounds like some of the San Diego people are being lulled to sleep by this suck coach who has given us an undermanaged mess.
Oh, and Oakland DID cast off Norv Turner, as has every team that he has worked for has. What a shocker!!!
Yep, even the asshole owner in Oakland knew to get rid of Norv Turner.
Norv should be paired with Jamarcus Russell, now that would be fun to watch.
Ugh!
There are 2 people who should be held responsible of our Chargers debacle: AJ and Norv Turner.
Spanos should step up and cut the cancer from the root and bring both a Capable Manager and a fierce, competitive, aggresive coach who is not afraid to use all the talent currently on the roster.
Candidates that won't refuse an offer: Fisher, Mariucci, Billick and Gruden.
Cheers to the guy who has been a Charger fan for 30 years. Exact same as me. I grew up 4,000 kilometers away in Toronto and loved the bolts from age 7 because of their explosive offense (and because the lightning bolts on their pants). A few years ago i thought my years of devotion was finally paying off with a 14-2 season destined to get better. Then Norv showed up and beat us into the ground. I don't care that we won a few playoff games. We've done that in years past. I want a team I can be proud of and one that realistically has the talent/discipline to win a Superbowl. Chargers peaked the day before Marty was fired.
Agree with the comment above.
"Chargers peaked the day before Marty was fired".
True!
I don't know about Billick, but the reason that I think Gruden would be a good coach is 1) his record, 2) listening to his commentary on MNF - he seemed to be auditioning for the job, 3) the guy has PASSION and discipline, both are sorely lacking from the current coaching team which flows over to the team.
Look... as a die-hard chargers fan i will reiterate what i have said since the day this all started.
JANUARY 20TH 2008
Yes the AFC Championship game vs The Patriots when LT was hurt and was SELFLESS enough not to play—and thereby lead by example—telling Turner and Sproles they were good enough to fill in for the THEN best RB in football and when PHILLIP RIVERS choose SELFISHLY to play.
Yes i said it. Rivers was selfish to play. The previous week, Billy Volek had just beaten the DEFENDING SUPERBOWL CHAMPION COLTS.. because back then we had a great Defense and a ball controlling Run first pass to #85 or #21 on third down offense. Anyone think Rivers PLAYING FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HIS LIFE WITH A SEARING PAIN IN HIS KNEE WHENEVER HE PLANTED on it to throw was—NOT SURPRISINGLY—slightly off with TD passes on two different drives that led to FG's???
The fallout in the following weeks? Everyone lauded Rivers as a hero and LT as weak and STUPID EFFING NORV from that moment on turned this team into the 79 chargers that loses every game 37-35 by making them a PASS FIRST RUN SECOND OFFENSE like the media thought we should be! Does anyone else realize we've gone from the best running offense in FB to DEAD LAST (wtf 57 yds per game???) and our pass rush is a joke.
Don't get me wrong. I know our O line is shot and I do love Rivers and all of the Chargers. BUT NORV HAS ALWAYS BEEN A DISASTER. And this team is such a long way from a game played only in the last calendar year.
The only thing that surprises me is that anyone could be a norv fan. (I unbelievably read lines like I am off the bandwagon how could you ever be on it??? Even the AFC Championship team game from 2008 was a far cry worse than the 14-2 (Marty “I can’t get out of my own way in the post season” Schottenheimer). Marty had to go.. Norv was the lame pansy choice of AJ Smith who should be fired right along with him. Those two win the weakest division in 2008 football and then we beat the colts only because we have always matched well with them...
Norv and AJ should never have seen the light of this season.
If you need more i told you so's look at any of my videos from the 2008 season... i bashed them just about every week... and deservedly so.
Go Bolts
Xoxo

Norv WAS the lame pansy choice to replace Marty and he has made the team super mediocre. The Chargers had SO much promise and Norv has taken them to just another not so great team - when they were a great team when he took over.
Norv is like the black mold that grows in houses and you have to move out and in some cases, the house has to be torn down.
Well, consider the Chargers partially torn dorn and infested with the Norv Turner mold affiction.
The Chargers need surgery to remove this disease called NORV
TuRNER.
See, I never was a big Marty fan either. You can win all the regular season games you want, but in my opinion, the true measure of a coach's success is in the playoffs, and Marty and Norv both have been no great shakes in the playoffs. There's really no excuse for Marty's playoff chokes because even Norv has won two playoff games in San Diego.
We need the type of coach that can lead us to 14-2 records AND playoff wins. We can't keep settling for either one, because that's the kind of attitude that doesn't win teams a Lombardi.
That would be Gruden, as he already won a Superbowl and really seems to like the Chargers, unlike most sports commentators who usually have a strong East Coast bias.
yeah.. that's my buddy's line about marty.. "one of the best regular season coaches... but in the playoffs he just can't get out of his own way."
Whenever some idiot asks why we fired him i just point out that a man who got fired at 14-2 still hasn't been hired... hmmmm... i wonder why. then i call him a douche and walk off.
Chucky? ya think? I mean he woulda been perfect after Marty... he coulda pulled the same thing he did in Tampa-- take all of the talent from his predecessor (Dungy and TB) and win a Superbowl that they couldn't... unfortunately he was still with TB when we hired TOOL TURNER. :)
Well, I am tired of my post Chargers game hangover.
First you get all pumped over the weekend about going to or watching the game on MNF. Then you get really excited that the game is finally on - and on a national stage.
Then, there are points scored and the game is close - Chargers even leading during the game.
Then, the big letdown and the loss.
That night sucks, the next day sucks, and now it looks like our season sucks........again.
I too have been a Chargers fan for more than 30 years and we sure don't deserve this debaucle.
Norv needs to be removed ASAP.
To www.youtube.com/genospicks, yep, Gruden would be a good choice, but he was expensive for Tampa Bay and S.D. likes to be cheap.................
btw... anyone else sick of seeing Norv's puss on the sideline every week of shiock and despair like he;'s betrayed or something.
NORV coaches a football game like Jimmy Fallon hosts his talk show. I am serious.. look at them both.. every time the camera is on them they both have this expression of "I SURE HOPE NO ONE REALIZES HOW MUCH I SHOULDN'T BE HERE!!!!"
oh and one more thing... look at my week three video.. i bash NORV with WADE and Mangini in the first minute
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwHokJGb6G0
ok.. back to life. thanks for letting me vent.
"That would be Gruden, as he already won a Superbowl and really seems to like the Chargers, unlike most sports commentators who usually have a strong East Coast bias."
And not only that, unlike in Tampa Bay, he would have sufficient talent on the roster to win multiple Super Bowls, even after the likes of Tomlinson, Chambers, and Williams retire. He actually won his Super Bowl with worse offensive players than we have.
Yep, agree with you ChargersPatsFan , totally.
With Gruden, we could actually see the talent being utilized.
Also, as far as seeing Norv on the sidelines - seeing NOrv with his hands stuck in his armpits - Norv get some gloves, dammit!
I can't stand to see Norv on T.V. ever. He looks like a pile of dogshit on a stick.
Thanks for letting ME vent.
Chargers pats fans...suck it and get out of San Diego. I'm sick of you yahoos taking over my beloved PB with all your crappy 'B" hats!
On another topic if the Chargers lose on Sunday I would have to say their is a good shot that Norv is done. Do we want them to lose?
We want Norv out!!!!!!!!!
If San Diego can't even beat K.C. then there might be hope of Norv being out, but who knows what will happen this time?
Has anyone seen the Jerry Rice comments? Norv is the worst coach he's EVER played for... including Pee Wee football. That alone should be the end of the road -- but we all know this is going to continue as long as A.J. and his ego are still around. Maybe he can make a coaching staff out of Buster Davis, Hester, Weddle, Cromartie and Cason. They aren't doing us much good on the field.
Besides the horrible choice in Norv Turner, can you imaging the talent we would have had A.J. made the obvious picks in recent drafts? Maualuga, Oher and Ayers are turning out to be beasts. And do you think we could use Anthony Gonzales over Buster Davis? We all knew these were bad drafts that would come back to bite us. We should be celebrating a dynasty in San Diego, but instead we are a laughing stock... AGAIN.
People are forgetting about Mike Holmgren.
I'd also like to point out that you really can't blame Norv for his performance as the Raiders' head coach. Ever since they lost the Super Bowl, they've been horrible with five different head coaches. Al Davis is the problem.
Jon Gruden is overrated. Sure, he won the Super Bowl with a team that he inherited from Dungy. The Bucs didn't win a single playoff game in the next six years, and that's why he was fired.
Rice doesn't like Norv. I think that it has something to do with his consecutive games with a reception streak coming to an end when Norv was his coach. Rice pretty much sucked at that point, so I don't know how that's Norv's fault.
"Chargers pats fans...suck it and get out of San Diego."
I would... but I don't live in San Diego. I've just always liked the Chargers. I've always liked the Clippers, too, but I don't live in L.A.
As far as I'm concerned, any Charger fan is welcome here.
Norv sucks and needs to be fired!
As far as ItsHimOrMe said, I like Jerry Rice and respect his opinion, so that should be relevant.
You can tell from L.T.s facial expressions and his comments about not being put back in on one of the plays that should have been a Chargers touchdown, that the team doesn't care for Norv.
Not bad, Geno's picks.
Norv Turner is a retread.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwHokJGb6G0
Norv is a bigger joke than Obama, and that is saying alot.
Get rid of both of them. One is destroying the Chargers, the other is destroying the country.
Norv is WORSE than Obama. Obama inherited a big mess, Norv got a great team and has trashed it.
Not just Jerry Rice has a poor opinion. Did anyone catch the Lorenzo Neal interview on 1090? This is classy, professional guy who does not make a habit out of trashing people, but he basically tore up Norv. He said there is simply no discipline on the team. Players are late for meetings and practice, screw around, or miss assignments on the field, but suffer no consequences at all. That is obvious in watching these guys getting worse every week without any concern for their jobs.
Norv is just not cut out to be a head coach as he seems to completely avoid confrontation with his players -- he won't be the bad guy. This team needs someone who will get in the face of a Cromartie or Merriman and rip them a new one when necessary (Cower or Chuckie)
"Obama inherited a big mess"
...and then proceeded to ruin it further by quadrupling the deficit and trying to institute socialist policies.
Hey Anonymous
"Not bad, Geno's picks. Norv Turner is a retread."
You spelled RETARD wrong.. and Thanks for the kind words aout the picks.
Hos sad is it that the Bolts are only giving 4.5 this week in KC... team that is basically winless with a record of the redskins and 5.
The Chargers will only win this week because it will keep us from firing Norv.
To answer MORGINO.. yes we want another loss.. even though it's so hard to route for when the game is actually being played
1) Retread - like a tire. But I agree he might be a retard, not sure.
2) We don't want to lose any game. There is no guarantee that Norv will be fired if the Chargers lose to K.C. A.J. still wants his yes man.
Hello, is this the fire Obama site or Fire Norv site?
Fuck off with the Obama crap.
Agree with ItsHimOrMe - Norv is not cut out to be a head coach.
Correct!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
While we all believe that the Anti-Norv is the answer for our Chargers it is unadulterated blasphemy to wish a loss upon the Bolts. The minute you start cheering for losses you've ceased to be a fan.
Besides....do you think a slough of losses would really get Norv canned? AJ will continue to blame the players for not getting the job done, sticking to the notion that these guys are actually quality players.
AJ Smith will not admit this mistake and it will come down to Spanos pushing the issue if the season goes in the tank.
In the meantime hope for the best and root FOR the Bolts...or you're a dickhead.
So the charger rumor mill is stating that the decision has already been made that Norv is out, they are just keeping it secret. My guess is that if he wins the next couple games they hold onto him until the end of the season, if not he's done before it's over.
Ron Paul for head coach!
Why not have Obama and Norv switch places? Obama can coach the Chargers, and Norv can be president. It might just work.
Where are the rumours coming from that Norv is out?
I don't want to get let down when they keep Norv.
So here are the rumors that I was talking about, straight off the nfl.com website. I noticed that on Monday night the announcers were talking about how the players liked a fired up coach like the Broncos have and then they showed Norv just standing there with his usual confused look on his face. Chucky just had a weird smile like he knew something everyone didnt. Well now we might know why he has that smirk.
"The thrice-hired, twice-fired Turner (21-16 with San Diego after going 50-60-1 with Washington and 9-23 with Oakland) tends to get the Chargers rolling late in the season, but if the Broncos keep winning and San Diego continues its Jekyll and Hyde act, winning in December might not mean much. It stings worse knowing the Raiders have just as many victories.
There is also reliable chatter in league circles that should Turner be let go, Gruden and Shanahan would like to be at the front of the line to take his place.
Bottom line: San Diego needs to stabilize and get to the playoffs again or Turner -- and possibly Smith -- could be in trouble, especially with mounting buzz about attractive potential replacements."
Having Gruden or Shanahan coach the Chargers would be SO awesome.
It would actually give us some hope.
Go Chargers!
Oh YES BABY:
There is also reliable chatter in league circles that should Turner be let go, Gruden and Shanahan would like to be at the front of the line to take his place.
Bottom line: San Diego needs to stabilize and get to the playoffs again or Turner -- and possibly Smith -- could be in trouble, especially with mounting buzz about attractive potential replacements.
Oh YES BABY YES.......
Please update this site so that "Norv Sucks" brings it up.
The NFL seems to be paying attention to our unhappiness with Norv Turner here in San Diego.
Some Chargers fans might not be wearing their Chargers shirts for this weekend's game, or might feel like wearing a bag over their heads, but I will be out and about wearing my San Diego
NO MORe NORV shirt.
I always get told "hey I like your shirt".
Let's hope that the rumours turn out to be true and that we get a real coach in here ASAP.
Ron Paul sucks. He's a lunatic who won five percent of the vote. Screw him.
Ron Paul's an idiot. He'd definitely screw up the Chargers.
Ron Paul hates black people.
Ron Paul would put more emphasis on a strict adherence to the Constitution so that's something Chargers' upper=management should consider.
Could we get back to the upcoming game and the fact that we want Norv Turner out?
No I want to talk more about Ron Paul, anyone who calls him and idiot must be a Raiders fan in Chargers clothing. If Ron Paul motivated millions of young people to care about the federal reserve he sure as hell could motivate some football players to stop the run! He should take AJ's job, he predicted the fall of the economy so I am sure he would be great at draft picks.
Ron Paul opposes the Civil Rights Act, opposed giving any aid to the Katrina victims, and thinks that Lincoln should have bought the slaves' freedom. The guy is a nutcase, even if he is right on some issues.
Ron Paul only opposes the Civil Rights Act because instead of improving race relations or creating true equality, it shifted the favoritism over to other races' sides. Isn't the real problem that there is any favoritism towards any race at all?
Ron Paul didn't oppose giving any aid altogether for Katrina victims - just FEMA. With the way FEMA grossly mishandled the aftermath of Katrina, can you blame him? FEMA is just another bloated and unnecessary government program/cashcow, and private charities can do a better job. BTW, Paul was very specific about how he was proud of Americans for donating over $600,000,000 in private donations after the disaster.
And yes, Paul did believe in buying out the slaves instead of going to war, because the rest of the world got rid of slavery just fine without one. Wars are a needless waste of money and should be avoided at all costs.
Doesn't sound like such a nutcase now, right?
Chargers Pats fan I apologize for me earlier terse comments about leaving my beach town. You are wise and all knowing with the above political discourse. You are welcome anytime, just tell your fellow bostonian transplants to stop picking barfights and calling my team the Chajers.

1. The Civil Rights Act hardly favors any race. It just states that races should be treated equally. You're confusing that with affirmative action. Ron Paul believes that if a restaurant doesn't want to serve black people, it shouldn't have to do so. He's wrong.
2. Just because FEMA did a bad job in that case doesn't mean that it should be disbanded. FEMA is needed to aid disaster victims. Paul's belief that the private sector will take care of everything is naive. The government has the responsibility to take care of its people in the case of natural disasters.
3. The slaveowners would have told Lincoln to screw himself if he had made any financial offer to buy the slaves. Whatever money he offered would have been hardly anything compared to what money they made through slavery. Sadly, the war was the only way to end slavery in America. The war was started by the confederacy, btw.

Holy shit, I thought this was a site for disgruntled Charger fans, not the political debates of complete irrelevance.
I guess the downfall of the Chargers and the total incompetence of our beloved coach has caused us to go a little CRAZEEEEE. Perhaps its only natural that our rants extent into politics. I personally would prefer to stay on topic. Down with the coach and the return of the all mighty super chargers in the 2010 season!
I agree EXCEPT it sounds like you are already blowing off this season.
Hmmmm! Tempting, BUT we have to make some NOISE and let the brass know at Chargers H.Q. that we ain't happy now, are we?
Go Chargers!
I'm not a rebel sympathizer but it is debatable whether or not the Confederacy actually started the war between the States.
The United States only existed because individual entities (colonies that thought of themselves as 'States' in the Country sense of the word) entered into a voluntary union because it was in their best interest at the time. This 'voluntary' entrance into an alliance is the reason the Constitution has such a heavy emphasis on States' rights---to protect those that were hesitant to align themselves. Thusly, South Carolina was merely exercising what it felt was its right in withdrawing from the Union and seizing Fort Sumter which was located in the State of South Carolina ("How can one illegally leave something which it voluntarily entered?").
Ron Paul's views are often considered callous towards minorities but he is actually quite the compassionate man. His contention is that the Constitution was written in order to constrain government and that vis-a-vis a strict interpretation of this document most decisions are left to the states and not the federal government. Although I'm sure Ron Paul would deem the act of removing Norv Turner from his office both Constitutional and necessary to the lifeblood of the Chargers.
//I'm a dickhead

WTF is up with the Ron Paul talk? Nobody cares about Ron Paul.
Stay on topic. FIRE NORV for gosh sakes!
Hey, Ron Paul fans (who the hell is Ron Paul, anyway?) go to another site - if there is one.
WTF?
Fire Norv Turner is the topic, O.K.?
Let's get onto the real issues at hand:
K.C. game
AND
Getting Norv Turner out of San Diego.
Can the Chargers overcome the ineptitude that is their coaching this week at KC?
I sure hope so.
Something tells me Norv will find a way to lose this one for us. Hopefully that will convince AJ Smith to run Norv Turner out of town.
I would like Norv Fired right this minute.
Well Charger fans, looks like the writing might be on the wall for their exit. This does not look good. It's tough being a Charger fan I tell ya, the coaching sucks balls and the organization is plotting it's departure.
http://www3.signonsandiego.com/stories/2009/oct/23/lawmaker-guest-spanos-football-box/?metro&zIndex=187661
The team coming to L.A. could be the Rams again or some other team.
Stay tuned to find out what is going on.
Meanwhile, let's get rid of Norv.
Chargers fans aren't the only frustrated fans in the NFL:
"Jim Zorn is the head coach of the Washington Redskins and will be for the rest of this season, and hopefully into the future," executive vice president of football operations Vinny Cerrato said on his radio show on ESPN980.
The news follows a week of rampant speculation over Zorn's job status that began when the coach was asked to give up his play-calling duties following a 14-6 loss to the previously winless Kansas City Chiefs. Zorn called the move "uncomfortable" and players expressed general concern over the state of the franchise, yet Cerrato and owner Dan Snyder remained silent and allowed the tension to build until Cerrato finally spoke up Friday.
"The frustration is very high, everywhere around here," Cerrato said. "But the relationships internally within this organization, quite frankly, remain the same."
Frankly, I think the league would probably rather wait to start an expansion team in LA than move a team there. They'd want a team with no expectations in such a major media market more than a team already known to be crappy.
If they did want to move a team, maybe they'd move a team AND create an expansion team. The two-team system has worked well for the NFL in New York.
In other news, the Chargers will probably lose this game. Norv is still calling plays, plus it's the dreaded early-morning start time that has traditionally been like Kryptonite to the Chargers.
So you are saying that the Chargers will still suck on Sunday?
No more expansion teams! 32 teams is enough. If the Chargers move to L.A., San Diego fans might as well still root for them. They'll still be the closest team to San Diego.
Whether a state can voluntarily secede is debatable at best. Anyway, enough about Ron Paul. He's irrelevant, just like the Chargers.
We don't want the Chargers to move to the City of Industry.
Hey, let's get off of weird subjects and get charged up for tomorrow's game.
Go Chargers!
What? No update for the K.C. game?
Fox pregame show discussed the end of L.T. and the possible end of Norv Turner.
Norv completely confused again after the kick after Chargers went 3 and out on first possession.
The 49ers look like crap again. If they lose today, I will have lost confidence in Singletary. They're certainly losing next week at Indy. 3-4? I thought that Mike had turned us around. There's no excuse this week at Houston. Gore and Crabtree are both playing, and they have a grand total of one yard almost halfway through the second quarter.
Singletary called that timeout two weeks ago to settle down the Niners. They gave up a touchdown on the next play. It's just not working.
The Niners also have trouble getting started in 10:00 games. There's no excuse for that; you reset your biological clock.
Crabtree finally caught a pass, but the Texans are getting a lot of pressure on Hill. The Niners aren't getting much pressure. The Niners have no pass defense so far.
Last year, Jed York said that it would be the LAST YEAR that the Niners would miss the playoffs. If they miss the playoffs this year, then his word doesn't mean shit.
First and goal from the 1 + Norv Turner = FG.
14-0 Texans. There is no way that the Texans should be winning by this much. The Niners are better than this. They're better than losing 45-10 to the Falcons. WTF is wrong with these bums?
You Chargers' look like complete assholes. They're up 17-0, and you're still finding stuff to complain about.
Meanwhile, the 49ers have one first down halfway through the second quarter. Now THAT'S something to complain about. They have no pass defense either.
Chargers' fans
21-0. FIRE SINGLETARY. There. I said it. First guy to say that.
It's obvious to me that Singletary is just more of the same shit. It's going to be our seventh consecutive losing season. Fuck this shit.
Singletary sure as hell talks tough, but it's not translating on the field. The Niners' pass defense looks like shit, and they can't move the ball.
Singletary is just talk, no action.
The Niners put in Alex Smith, and he took the Niners down the field with ease. It's 21-7 now! Wow! Maybe Smith isn't a worthless piece of shit #1 draft pick bust.
after all.
3 and out on the next drive. So much for that. The Niners have no running game today.
First, we Chargers fans ALWAYS have to be worried. Norv just fucked up the clock, as usual for him.
Second of all, GO NINERS! They need to cover my bet.
Chargers D has to keep from breaking down.
3rd down for the Niners with 13:33 left. It's still 21-7. It doesn't look good, even though Smith has been more efficient than Hill.
Next week in Indy is an automatic loss for the Niners. They're staring 3-4 in the face. The Cards may end up winning the division, even though they're going to get punked tonight.
1st down Niners. Smith has been perfect so far.
TOUCHDOWN VERNON DAVIS! IT'S NOW 21-14!
12:43 left
The sideline reporter is talking to President George H.W. Bush. He's a good man. He served in WW2.
Why all the niners talk on a chargers forum? Did I miss something? As I said before:
First and goal from the 1 + Norv Turner = FG (or in this case, zip)
The Texans are in FG range. That's not good. A ten point lead with under 10:00 left will probably put the game away.
The Niners will probably be 3-3 after this game, and they're definitely losing next week. That's not good, but at least that's better than 2-5. They were 2-5 after their first seven in each of Nolan's four seasons as head coach.
24-14 Texans. It's over. Shit.
HUSS HUSS HUSS HUSS HUSS HUSS HUSS HUSS HUSS HUSS
Way to suck up to L.T. and get nothing, then go for a field goal NORV!!!!
Wish we could play K.C. every week, at least they suck
It's 24-21! Smith looks awesome. Only 3:43 left though. I think that they should go for an onside kick.
ONSIDE KICK!
Nope. They kicked deep. They gotta stop the Texans.
3 TD passes by Smith!
Incomplete pass stops the clock.
1st down. Shit. They should have gone for an onside kick.
Another 1st down. Like I said, they should have gone for an onside kick.
Why aren't they calling a time out?
Singletary is dumb. You're supposed to call your timeouts before the 2:00 warning, not after.
Stupid shit.
2nd down Texans at the 2:00 warning. 2 timeouts left for the Niners.
Niners have one TO left. 1:54, third down. A first down in bounds for the Texans puts away the game.
Incomplete pass! Niners save a time out! They get the ball back.
The Texans are going to punt now.
1st down Niners at their own 7. 1:38 left, one TO.
1:07 left, ball at the 17.
:50 left, ball at the 38.
They only need a FG.
4th down
4th and 10. Stupid delay of game penalty.
INT. Ballgame.
End of season.
RIP 2009 San Francisco 49ers.
Fire Singletary.
Seven consecutive losing seasons for the Niners is unacceptable. It's too bad that we can't fire the owners. The Niners have been nothing but epic fail since the Yorks took over.
Dear Avenger in Chief, please update your site.
Hellooooo!
Is this the Ron Paul site?
Or the 49ers site?
The Chargers won a game!
I wish we could play K.C. every week.
Go Chargers!!!!
This Bills-Panthers game is really entertaining. The Panthers have totally dominated yet trail 7-2. Owens dropped another pass today.
Cmon Dave....delete the 49'ers tool
Why the hell are we talking about the Niners?
The West Coast Offense was terrible and inflated Jerry Rice's stats beyond belief.
The refs used to huddle for them to give them favorable calls.
They used to be able to bend the salary cap in order to win.
Now, they blow chunks and have less leadership than the Chargers do.
That's all you need to know about the 49ers.
You're just jealous 'cause the Niners kicked the Chargers' asses in the Super Bowl. Niners: 5 Lombardi trophies; Chargers: zilch.
Crabtree, Vernon Davis, and Alex Smith all looked good today.
I guess there are folks that want to talk about the 49ers since the San Diego game was evidently boring to them................
Rivers leads Chargers to 37-7 win over hapless Chiefs.
Finally, some breathing room.
Ok, so against weak teams its a strong start and a weak finish? Well, I won't hold the finish against them since they pulled the starters. My only complaint about that game: What's up with the red zone offense, still! C'mon. If your O line isn't good enough to punch it in from the 1 against the cheifs (in 7 tries), you need to consider other options.
Wow, the spread against the Raiders next week is 17. Guess this Chiefs game actually gave them some credibility. Oh yeah, and the Raiders suck nutz too
The Chargers have to play the 49ers next year. Bwahahahahahaha! Say your prayers, Chargers' fans!
"You're just jealous 'cause the Niners kicked the Chargers' asses in the Super Bowl. Niners: 5 Lombardi trophies; Chargers: zilch."
Niners: 5 referee-engineered, salary-cap-bending, totally-fixed Lombardi trophies; Chargers: zilch, in one honest appearance.
BTW, the Cowboys have 5 in 7 trips, the Steelers have six Lombardis (all also fixed and referee-engineered) and Green Bay has 12 NFL championships overall counting the pre-Super Bowl era. The Niners aren't even the best in terms of championships.
No jealousy here, just a non-media-skewed knowledge of the truth.
Lol @ salary cap bending. Hey, genius. There WAS NO SALARY CAP except when the Niners won their last Super Bowl.
BTW, I NEVER said that that 49ers are the best franchise in NFL history. I just said that they're better than the Bolts, which they are.
Referee-engineered? Lol. People always complain about the refs when the team that they hate wins.
Screw the Chargers for stealing the offensive genius Norv Turner from the 49ers. Maybe he can come back to the Niners and be the OC if he's fired by the Chargers. Singletary was WRONG for firing Mike Martz, and Raye is a piece of shit. It looks like the Niners are going to have to learn yet another new offense next year.
Whenever Norv Turner walks into a bar, all the people shout, "NORRRRRRRRRRRRV!"
The Cowboys have been to eight Super Bowls. Get your facts straight, ChargersPatsFan.
See the comment above that says: "Screw the Chargers for stealing the offensive genius Norv Turner from the 49ers. Maybe he can come back to the Niners and be the OC if he's fired by the Chargers."
We'll keep our fingers crossed that some team will take Norv!
Dave:
Dude, time to update this site.
Keep up the good work!
"Screw the Chargers for stealing the offensive genius Norv Turner from the 49ers."
We'd be very happy to give you him back. As a matter of fact, we could probably use Singletary as a defensive coordinator.
"Lol @ salary cap bending. Hey, genius. There WAS NO SALARY CAP except when the Niners won their last Super Bowl."
Yes, but the salary-cap cheating continued for several years after that SB win. In fact, it has been well-documented: http://www.49erhaters.com/cheat.html
However, rest assured that the Niners aren't alone in cap cheating. The Broncos have also engaged in it: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A28969-2004Sep17.html
"Referee-engineered? Lol. People always complain about the refs when the team that they hate wins."
Really? Because the "Niner Referee Huddles" have also been well-documented over the years:
http://www.49erhaters.com/falc297.html
http://www.49erhaters.com/gsum/panth98.html
http://www.49erhaters.com/gsum/saint99.html
These were summaries written at the time by people who watched the game and kept track of how many favorable fabricated calls were made for the 49ers.
Also, I distinctly remember an incident where a ref ran into the 49ers' huddle to shake Jerry Rice's hand. That right there proves that the refs were in the tank for the 49ers.
NORV!!!!!!!!!!!
Go AWAY!
Or back to Oakland on the plane with the team.
It looks like the Chargers need a Dick Butkus pep talk, although they won't need it today vs. the Raiders.
JFC!
Update your site already
DENVER LOST DENVER LOST DENVER LOST
OAKLAND SUCKS OAKLAND SUCKS OAKLAND SUCKS
GO CHARGERS!
I'm happy with the win, but wow, how lackluster.
The first half was looking good, the second half - not so much.
I have to say that Norv was right about the Chargers not being that good.
Of course, he is not helping them get THAT GOOD either.
The Niners gave the Colts a good run for their money today. The Niners are looking better with a healthy Gore, Crabtree, and Alex Smith. The Niners ain't finished yet.
Yes, the niners are looking better.
AND the Chargers have some tough games coming up, so I am a bit concerned that they are going to have some problems after watching that second half today.
Chambers is gone. I really liked that guy when he came on board but then he just fell apart. i wish him luck though.
Derrick Brooks is a free agent.
He'd give our D the leadership that it needs.
R.I.P. firenorv.com (2007-2009).
Have to beat Eli this coming game!
Eli wants revenge. He remembers that Sunday night game in 2005 at Qualcomm. The Giants were embarrassed. Now it's payback time. The Giants will NOT lose four straight.
Comonnnnnnnnnn!
Just cuz we lost to Denver, you're not going to keep the site up now??????????
Chargers 38, Giants 17. The Giants are pretenders and will be exposed yet again this week.
chargers season is next 3 games. after that they should go at least 5-1.
ChargersPatsFan, if the Giants are pretenders, what are the Chargers? Lol. The Chargers aren't even pretending. Giants all the way. They aren't going to lose four straight to these scrubs.
Lol. The Chargers aren't even pretending to be good.
@Anon: Last I checked, the Chargers haven't lost four in a row after starting 5-0 against weak teams and already being proclaimed Super Bowl winners. They also haven't been totally blown out in any of their losses, unlike how the Giants were against the Saints and Eagles.
Oops, I meant they lost three in a row, though they will have lost four in a row after today.
The Giants loss. They are FINISHED, and give credit to Norv and the Chargers for a hard fought victory. I see a wild card in the Chargers' future, which is better than nothing. As far as Eli Manning goes, he may have won a Super Bowl, but he'll never be as good as his big brother.
Also, fuck the 49ers for playing like shit today after almost beating the Colts last week. Fire Singletary. He's far worse than Norv. Fire him NOW.
"As far as Eli Manning goes, he may have won a Super Bowl, but he'll never be as good as his big brother."
"He" didn't win that Super Bowl. Spags, the defense, and the refs did. ShEli, while the defense was busy roughing the passer and/or holding on every play and never getting whistled for it, was throwing awful pass after awful pass and completely lucked into that Tyree catch.
