I think this picture of a dog crapping on a Steelers logo shows how I feel about this game. Its actually a .gif with animation of the actual poo-pooing but I couldn't figure it out. Thanks to the Cleveland fan who made it.

TO THE GAME!

Pittsburgh has the leagues #1 Defense. The Chargers have the leagues 2nd to worst Pass D. However, the only teams that really gave Pittsburgh trouble and LOSSES were teams with versatile offenses like the Eagles and Tennessee and the Giants. The Chargers also fit this bill. Somewhat a 'run first' team but our real bread and butter is P. Rivers. Add Sproles to that mix and it spells trouble.

The Chargers almost beat the Stoolers with a less than stellar LT. A healthy Sproles and with Rivers on the mark the Chargers pull out a victory by 5 points. If Rivers throws more than 1 interception the Chargers will lose.

ALSO if the Chargers 2nd string RB and probable team Cell Phone salesman (his job 4 weeks ago) has his career usual fumble-itis then the Chargers will lost. COLD. SNOW. Maybe WET. This will be a game of contrition and turnovers. The team with the least amount of turnovers wins.

Pittsburgh SHOULD win this game but a red hot Chargers team will keep it together and pull out the win.

My always correct prediction:

Chargers 21- Steelers 16 (yes there will be a safety and no field goals). Chargers move on to Play Baltimore. Oh yea did i forget to say that the Ravens will win too?

There's nothing more embarrassing than having the best record in the NFL and going down in your first playoff game. The Titans should be ashamed of themselves. They dominated the game but turned over the ball three times and committed stupid penalties. Good riddance, losers. So now the Chargers, an 8-8 team, will HOST the AFC Championship Game if they win tomorrow in Pittsburgh.

There's nothing more embarrassing than having teh best record in the NFL and going down in your first playoff game. The Chargers felt what that was like two years ago.

did i call the Ravens win or what?

The Cardinals could pull off an upset too tonight. The Cards are lucky that this game was scheduled for tonight and not tomorrow morning. They're very bad in those Sunday 10:00 PT games (because their bodies are probably not awake). They're definitely awake tonight, and they've just taken the lead against the only team that's undefeated at home.

Kenny Albert said earlier that this was the first game on the east coast in which the Cardinals scored a TD in the first quarter. It's obvious that west coast teams have trouble getting started when they play at 10:00 PT Sunday morning. (Arizona is in the mountain time zone, but they're considered a west coast team.) The Cardinals have benefitted from the playoff schedule so far tonight.

Wow! Carolina looks embarrassing. Worst playoff performance so far this year. The playoffs have been very strange thus far. Is this the Twilight Zone?

Delhomme is the goat.

I never knew until now that Edgerrin James was given a Super Bowl ring by the Colts. That was a very classy move by Bill Irsay. That reminds me of the Red Sox presenting Nomar with a ring after they won the 2004 World Series.

No-Mah.

Delhomme should be benched. Really, he is just God-awful tonight.

Anybody who says that a team that wins its division should somehow be prevented from reaching the playoffs due to a lackluster win-loss record is an idiot. There's logically no point to having divisions if winning your division doesn't give you an automatic playoff spot. Secondly, different divisions have different schedules. You really can't compare the Patriots' 11-5 record to the Chargers' 8-8 record since they had completely different schedules. The Cardinals and Chargers have shut up the naysayers so far, and won't it be funny if those two teams end up going to the Super Bowl?

a blast from the past..

In the most disappointing loss of the Bill Cowher era, the Steelers lost 17-13 to San Diego after leading by 10 in the 1995 AFC championship game. So much for the Super Bowl dance video they rehearsed a few days before.

I hope they have their dancing shoes on again. I remember watching that game in my basement in Mission Beach....ahhh the memories

i kind of remember watching that game in Tommy's living room on Isthmus Ct. Honking Horns galore!

20-17 CHARGERS!!!

Since the NFL established its current playoff format in 1990, there has never been a divisional playoff weekend where more than two of the four home teams (fresh after a bye) lost to their opponents. Right now, it's looking like the Eagles will be the third road team to win, and it would be a BLOCKBUSTER story if all four home teams lose this weekend.

I see that Eli Manning is back to sucking in the playoffs after a one-year break last year.

If the Chargers win the Super Bowl, Norv Turner's face should be carved on Mt. Rushmore. He would belong there.

Touchdown Chargers! Rivers is on fiyahhhhhhhhhh!

Nice punt by Big Ben!

Dave said...

Crap. Punt Return? whats with all the arm tackles?

Anonymous said...

Wow! The Chargers are self-destructing now. Only one play on offense in the entire third quarter, with 1:57 left. It looks like a Ravens-Steelers AFC Championship Game at Heinz Field.

The Chargers are done. The Steelers' defense was just too tough today. Also, L.T. didn't play. Good season though. Ravens-Steelers next Sunday night.

Whoa

Chargers are taking a beating, but they are still hanging in.

Does not look good for us.

It's 35-17. Th-th-th-th-th-th-th-that's all, folks!

The Chargers just punted on fourth down. That's your white flag of surrender. I really can't blame them. 4th and 17 in their own territory? They had a better chance of recovering a muffed punt than converting on fourth down.

No Norv on Rushmore.

Please don't give up on this...the players decided to make a run in spite of Norv. Today we went back to his way of doing things. We will never get to a championship or SB with Norv. Started great and went into conservative mode instead of having any killer instinct.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Anonymous Guy, even the guy who runs this site said that you can't blame Norv for this one. The Chargers got outplayed by a better team. The Steelers could be the first franchise to hoist six Lombardi trophies. Hell, we could even have an all-Pennsylvania Super Bowl in Tampa.

Anonymous said...

I agree: we can't blame Norv for this one... Anyhow, I still--and always will--have my love for the Bolts. Here's to next year!

Nice prediction of the final score, dude. I'm so glad you're always correct, and that we totally beat the Steelers 21-16. We're gonna RULE over Baltimore coming here on Sunday!!!

Oh, wait... mehhhh that didn't happen.

Thanks for stating, "The team with the least amount of turnovers wins", Captain Obvious. Cuz, you know, typically, the team with the most turnovers wins. What are you, John Madden?

Who the F predicts a safety, anyway? Yeesh.

and furthermore, in response to the quote, "Anonymous said...

It's bah-dee-bah-dee-bah-deee, that's all folks. NOT th-th-th-th-... Get your Porky Pig right, son, we're not quoting Billy Maddison.
