Tale of Two Cities and Two Turners

Michael Turner is the 3rd highest rusher in the NFL this year and on a team that was picked to be last place or close in the NFL. With a rookie QB and a former backup running back this team is now 7-4 while the Chargers are 4-7.

What is the difference you say? Well, the Falcons got a new headcoach and the Chargers got a new headcoach. One headcoach has game planned and motivated and managed his mediocre players to WIN games. The Chargers coach has taken the most talented team in the NFL and unmotivated and mismanaged them to LOSE games.

Does anyone really think that the a head coach isnt that important? Oh yea. AJ Smith does.

Im here to tell you the only thing in the Chargers equation that is different than the past 6 years of winning is Norv Turner. Sure, LT has lost a step but Rivers is an excellent QB and should be able to handle the extra load. THe Giants have a very good head coach and with the loss of TWO of their best defensive players are still great.

In the real world Norv would have been fired already. I think the Detroit Lions will be looking for a new coach and GM. Maybe our guys will fit in better over there in a city that is dominated by a poorly run football team and car industry that screams mismanagement and ineptness.

I cant go with who i WANT to win anymore and have to use my brain.

27-17 Chargers Victory. It's an ILLUSION!

Ok Ill go out on one more limb for the Chargers. Do I think they are going to make the Playoffs? No. Do I think they will beat the Colts? Yes.

Here is why. The colts wont have safety Sanders and they have been terrible Vs. the run. LT finally gets off and scores twice. Rivers only throws one pick and looks more like Dan Fouts than Doug Henning.

Well you know...... I think that every GM would say the same thing.... Especially when they probably already made a decision to can someone right after the season. I still think Norv is gone in Feb. If he isnt then AJ will be out the door too.

So the question isnt IF Norv Turner will be fired as Chargers head coach but WHEN......

Anyone have a guess on that? He literally took the MOST talented team in the NFL and turned them into a bottom tier team on pure coaching incompetence. IF AJ can't admit he screwed this up then maybe he needs to be shown the door too.

I would imagine AJ realizes his mistake now and is sad that the team he built up throw great drafting has been mishandled and ruined. Well.... Maybe in another 10 years my fellow Charger fans...
