Anyone have a guess on that? He literally took the MOST talented team in the NFL and turned them into a bottom tier team on pure coaching incompetence. IF AJ can't admit he screwed this up then maybe he needs to be shown the door too.
I would imagine AJ realizes his mistake now and is sad that the team he built up throw great drafting has been mishandled and ruined. Well.... Maybe in another 10 years my fellow Charger fans...

another great performance. The defense played good for 3/4 of the game but the old defense showed up to allow big play after big play on the steelers last drive. It was painfully easy for them to score. Then after that we have 5 seconds to march 80 yrds..good game management norv....and we throw a 3yrd pass. We lateral and fumble and give up a touchdown. we are embarrasing. I guess losing by one wasn't enough. Oh thank goodness for a technacality we did not give up that touchdown. Great work norv.....!!!!@!@$@!%!%^!^

The Chargers do NOT have a head coach; they now have a Defensive coordinator and an offensive coordonator.
As they said on T.V. What a strange game. Usually, we know that any and most of the Chargers games will be strange, but it is getting old watching a team that does not play the entire game and goes on to lose by one f*****g point!!!

Norv Turner, handed diamonds and turned them back into coal. Last year was nice, and I understand injuries, but the loss of too many close games falls on the coaching. For an offensive genius, his play calling is way too conservative.

norv turner swung on martys balls last year. getting to the afc title game was not because of norv. it was the last bit of martyball left in our teams minds. remember l.t. spoke to marty when we started our winning streak. he then called a meeting to rally the troops which norv obviously cant do. i can hear marty laughing right now at a.j. for firing him and replacing him with norv i have no motivational skills but i am a yes man turner. marty was not the reason we lost the playoff games against the jets and pats. norv will be the reason we wont make the playoffs
and just to back up my opinion that marty was not the reason why we lost those games to the jets n pats. we all know a.j blamed marty for the loses but where are the players who ruined the games for us now? marlon "not going down after intercepting a pass to win the game mcree" in a donks uniform. drayton "im so badass im gonna headbutt fools" florence in a jags uniform. nate " i cant hit a clutch kick ever in my life" kaeding unfortunately still in a chargers uniform. anyone still think we can get john carney to come out of retirement? those bad apples are gone now except for kaeding but will always be remembered for being the guys who really got marty fired.
Turner has had great tools, average tools, and mediocre tools during his coaching career. He’s been able to do NOTHING with any players of NFL caliber because he is not a good coach. Tony Dungy has bowel movements that can run an NFL franchise better than Turner on his best day!

What else should any team that hires this tool expect? The guy has been passed around more than a $10 whore for a reason. Bring back Marty already! L.T. should never ever have less than 25 carries in a game unless he is hurt or the Bolts get down by more than 2 scores early. Period. Two games behind the weak Broncos with six to go can certainly be made up, especially since the two teams face each other in the regular season finale.
Norv Turner is classified as a "offensive genius". Then why is it so much easier for the Colts with a 2nd string running back and a broken Marvin Harrison to beat the Steelers than for us with ZERO injuries. His play calling is so predictable its numbing. Philip Rivers chokes on the road (Buffalo, New Orleans, etc) and needs to man up. Why is he even throwing that pass before halftime? Nate Kaeding is a waste of space. Norv released Lo Neal because "we dont use a full back anymore", yet he brings in Tolbert who cant block to save his life. Dont tell me not having Lo Neal isnt a big reason why we cant run the ball this year. Our defense is out of position on every play as well, and how come we are the only team in the NFL who cant stop the 3 step passing game. Pathetic. To sum it all up, Norv Turner is a whimp, and we are taking the personality of our coach and playing like whimps. When Marty was here, people complained we were too conservative. Norv is HORRIBLE! EVERY game starts with the exact same play... run LT into the back of Dielman for a gain of 1 foot! It's unbelievable how little imagination he has. Even my wife calls it before it happens. It's like freaking GROUNDHOG DAY!!
Norv changed it up one time against the Patties and it went for 50+ yards -- but never tried it again!

I'd love to see either Bill Cower or Brian Billick in power blue next year... either would bring an amazing amount of discipline and integrity to a chragers team that really really needs it. Cancel the games for the rest of the season, I don't care, and get cower or billick in now to start drills for '09.
AJ has drafted very well, but he like so many talented, smart people who are expert in one area, he assumes he is expert in another. He did assemble great personnel and assumed that ANY reasonably competent coach, familiar with the offensive and defensive schemes, could bring a championship. It came close to happening last year, but this year reveals that it takes more than basic competence (and Norv may be below that) to win.
I think he gets scared. If he would let loose, and start Rivers passing and then run when the defense is fearing/expecting pass, we could score 40 a game. Instead, he seems to listen to the press and LT that "we have to establish the run". Well, with the line and FB we have now, we cannot, but Rivers can pass.
I feel bad for him, but not as bad as LT. It would be like Fouts never getting to the Superbowl. LT needs his shot. He is not going to get it with the current coaching crew.
