OK. Since I love History so much here is my shocker analogy of the Chargers-Pats game and my point spread prediction that is NEVER off. I might be wrong on how many points are scored but not the spread. Nope.
No one gives the Chargers a chance on Sunday. Point spread is 13.5. Media is disappointed we ruined their Colts-Pats game blah blah blah. Well my county men (that isn't a mispell. I mean San Diego County!) Maybe. Just maybe the Chargers are the American militia and the Patriots are the Red Coats. The Chargers are big underdogs going against what is considered the best football team ever. Unbeatable with the record to prove it. But so were the British. The worlds biggest empire who didn't take its opponents seriously. We'll the British got a real rude awakening when they lost at Yorktown. Bilichick is Cornwallis commandeering his troops to victory after victory. Their hubris and overconfidence is obvious. But hey. Maybe they can back it up. Well so the Red Coats thought too.
Surely, Dave, you aren't saying Norv Turner is George Washington? We'll no. They don't really have too many of the same qualities except both were very soft spoken and almost shy and both had losing records until it came to crunch time when it counted. Come to think of it Washington and Norv do have a lot in common but only if Norv can beat the Pats as GW beat Cornwallis in effect ending the Revolutionary War.
But who, you may say, is Lieutenant General de Rochambeau from France. There was no way the Americans win that war without doubling the size of their troops with trained fighters from Britain's arch enemy and 2nd biggest world power France. Not to mention the help from the French Navy that kept the British from resupply. Maybe we can spoil all the food in Foxboro and block traffic and we can be the French!. But who the hell wants to be French? I don't. Crap. I just spent 20 minutes writing this damn post and I'm too excited about the game to make a coherent sentence.
I have no idea and maybe this analogy sucks (pretty sure it does!) but if The Chargers can beat the Pats then I come out looking like a genius. I hope the Chargers area traveling with a marching band that can play "The World Turned Upside Down". Just like at Yorktown when Cornwallis surrendered because I predict we are going to need them.
Charger win by 3. A field goal as time runs out. 20-17 Chargers go to the Super bowl. Make your bets now. OK Maybe a better analogy would have been Super Bowl XXXVI. Pats upset the greatest show on Turf. yeah that's it.
Special thanks to Morgino for the photoshopped battle of Yorktown with the Charger and Pats helmets.

Yep. The world is against the Charger nation. And frankly, I love it. I heard Boomer Esiasson on CBS flabbergasted that the Chargers had won - after he had blabbed about the Colts killing the Chargers - and he stated that "Oh, the Patriots are going 19-0 now!" What an idiot!
The Chargers are no longer just a team that could win it all - that have been doing it this season. That have nothing to lose! And just like Yorktown, there is no reason to expect the might Patriots to lose, but stranger things have happened. I too predict a Charger win by 10 points. Cromartie will have two picks against Brady - and the Patriots will look might lost midway through the fourth quarter!
GO CHARGERS!!!
PS: Norv may not be George Washington, but he crossed the Delaware two games ago - git r done!
Norv Turner being compared to the father of our county? Whoa that's a big stretch.
It would be awesome to upset NE and I hope that the Chargers do it.
LET'S GO CHARGERS - KNOCK THEM OUT.
It would be the ultimate irony if somehow the Giants beat Greenbay and the Chargers won with Rivers facing Manning at the Show.
But, as everyone knows, San Diego was not good enough for Eli, so it would even better if San Diego got in and Eli stayed home.
Every Charger fans dream. Poetic justice.
Never fear, underdog is here!
Why does your pic have the pats and the rams helmets in it?
dazed and confused..........
He explained why. He's hoping for an upset on Sunday similar to the Pats' upset win over the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI.
That's right and NO-ONE Knows that better than the Man, the Legend, The #1 Best Football Coach EVER - Thats E V E R . . . Bill Belichick.
Not only do people from Boston talk like special ed students they spell like them also.
Boy there are Pats fans on here now. I am surprised that they haven't made such sweet comments like they did on Craigs List such as "You dicks deserve to get burnt out of your homes and I hope that you have no place to live cause your team sucks.!" Ahh pats fans....I guess the the apple(bellicheat) doesnt far fall from the tree (massholes)
The Chargers have the talent on defense to pressure Tom Brady and cover in the secondary, but injuries have caught up with them recently. Too bad Cromartie can't be cloned.
The Patriots were quietly going about their business when Chargers defensive lineman Igor Olshansky inexplicably said he thought New England was "more worried" about this game than San Diego. The comments seemed to worry Chargers coach Norv Turner more than anyone. What's next, Rivers taunting Brady from the sideline after San Diego has taken a 3-0 lead?
We can only hope for a good game.
I just found out what Norvs full name is...Norval Eugene Turner
Wow..sounds like a kick ass coach to me!
His parents must have wanted him to have a tough life
That name's pretty bad alright.
Kinda matches Norv though. Not pretty. Kinda hideous. Just get the Chargers through this NOW.
All we want is a miracle. A WIN.
Any size win. Even by ONE point.
We'll take it.
Go Chargers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Having been in Boston right before the most recent World Series, it IS all Red Sox, all Patriots ALL of the time.
But, Boston does know who the Chargers are and they WILL be ready for the Chargers tomorrow, which is different from what the media is portraying. Don't think they will overlook us as the Colts did.
Charger-mania is now in full force and we want the Chargers to bring it more than ever before.
GO CHARGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Put the Karma out there.
Go Chargers!
WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Norv did a good job this year, but for the first time I do have to criticize him. The Chargers should have gone on 4th and 10 with under 10 minutes left and down by 9. Instead they punted and NEVER GOT THE BALL BACK. Yeah, they should have gone for it. It's not like they would have won anyway though. The Patriots are just a better team.
First of all Kudos to Rivers for playing today with heart!
Second a big turd to the CBS broadcasters who kept saying that San Diego scored 3 field goals.
Third,
Memo to Norv Turner - go for on it 4th down when you have to.
San Diego - 4 Scores @ 3 points = 12.
New England - 3 Scores @ 7 ponings = 21. (Including PAT)
Norv, please take a remedial math class along with Bill Cowher.
Lastly, thank you to all of the members of the Chargers team.
It was a great year.
Sorry Norv, you still suck.
CHARGERS: We'll be back!
Your FIRE NORV sales might start picking up again now.
Congratulations to the Chargers for such a great year.
Kudos to all of you guys this year for being so into the team! Firenov will keep on going!
