OK. I officially agree that the Nazi Bill B. is in bad taste. Now that Ive calmed down from the weekend loss.
On to football! What the hell does it take to keep a job in San Diego and to get fired from a job in San Diego? Is it 'opposite day or decade' for that matter? Let me get this right.
Marty goes 14-2. Your fired!
Norv's head coach record was hovering around .500 and he is hired.
James Lofton (receiving coach) makes great strides with the Charger receivers this year, especially V. Jackson and he gets canned.
Matt Simon- Hired this year as RB coach and he presides over unprecedented performances from the 2nd and third string RB's when the NFL RB MVP gets injured. AND HE gets fired.
Man that is a rough crowd over there! I know. I know. Norv wants HIS people in there and James Lofton didn't really have such a great receiving core the last 5 years and most notably we CUT Wes Welker from our rooster but wasn't that more of an AJ thing?
I thought Simon did an outstanding job this year but what do I know? Not much because I picked the Chargers to beat the PATS. Can anyone out there enlighten me about why they got fired. I hear that Lofton was shocked that he got the boot and wasn't given a specific reason why.

I have no idea why they dropped Lofton, the receivers came alive this year and if it wasnt for Chambers the Chargers would not have even made it to the playoffs. Seems like the team is not one for stability. You have to get a core group and stick with it.
I was completely shocked with Lofton getting canned as the receivers were really great this year. Jackson stepped up his game 100% and look at Chambers. Miami hated him and he comes to San Diego and just got better and better. Made the game really exciting. Do NOT understand what the thinking is on the firings on the Chargers staff lately are at all. If Marty had those guys, it would be very interesting to see where we would be right now. He had really gotten off of the Martyballtrack in his last year.
Cutting Wes Welker and Rodney Harrison were two of the most confusing moves ever made by the Chargers.
Lofton will be picked up immediately by another team and so will the RB coach.
Sometimes it seems the Chargers and the Padres are the training teams for all of the other teams in the country.
Firing Lofton?
Are you sh*tting me?
What's next - getting rid of Jackson and Chambers.........
And anyone still wonders why Norv Turner has a losing record.
Norv's record was 58-82-1.
That's a losing record, not around
.500.
It seems like A.J. wanted someone to take the hit for the AFC Championship loss and Norv served up Lofton and Simon.
Nice going Norv.
The Chargers had many opportunies to win the AFC Champ game and Norv Turner needs to take SOME responsiblity since he called ALL offensive plays and is the Head Coach.
Instead, he fires someone who has done a great job in Lofton.
Norv, shame on you!
Norv Turner reactivated the Washington Redskins fans again on their own FIRENORV chat after they watched the Chargers - Patriots game last Sunday.
Funny!
I like this. It shows that the Chargers are committed to being the red-headed stepchild of the AFC West. While the Broncos, Chiefs and Raiders were busy winning those Super Bowls, the Chargers were busy losing and drafting Leaf. That was the world I knew. After about 15 high first round picks, they were actually able to stumble upon a winning football team. But now they've shown real strides in making dumb decisions, such as this and firing a coach after a 14-2 season.
They fired Schottenheimer after a 14-2 season because they lost their first playoff game AND because he pissed off the owner. We've gone over this a zillion times. The Chargers had no chance at winning on Sunday; the Pats are a better team. Quit whining about that. When they lost to the Pats LAST YEAR in the playoffs, the Chargers were the better team. Anyway, Norv is the head coach and has the right to have his own guys as coaches. Lofton was a Schottenheimer holdover.
Lofton had those guys doing great. They were starting to look like Moss.
You stay with what works. Chambers said that Lofton was the best coach that he's ever had.
Anyway now they brought in Charlie Joiner. He's a great guy, but last time I checked, SD had better receivers than KC.
Lofton had Jackson and Chamber performing as well as any receivers in the NFL, so why fire him? Makes no sense whatsoever.
But the Chargers don't always make sense, do they?
The Chargers could have and should have beat the Pats last week. But Norv's play calling cost them.
So close, but so far...........
Please get rid of Give Norv A Raise at least.
He's questionable at best.
The Chargers made the AFC Championship Game. They could have won the game IF Rivers, Gates and LT were healthy and ready to go. Merriman was also not doing too well.
Instead we faced a superior team. I do not like the Pats, but 17-0 is 17-0. How many other teams can boast of that record? Only the 72 Dolphins.
Norv started off horribly but righted the ship and the result was the AFC Championship game.
You guys that keep questioning a team that made it to the AFC Championship need to chill out.
As for Lofton, who knows why they fired him. However, while Jackson did make strides, how much was a function of Chambers being there and Gates? Maybe this team could have been better with another coach? Personality - who knows?
However, I still believe that we need a legitimate Offensive Coordinator.
Besides, don't you think Norv wants Norv people like Marty wanted Marty people. Sounds stupid but thats life.
Norv has a losing record and with the team he inherited, he had to win something.
Fans all over the league feel that Norv blew it with his play calling.
Yes, some players were injured, but Brady was not having his best day. When does he throw three interceptions and have all of those incompletions? Not too often. It was time for the Chargers to capitalize on those problems and Field goals don't get it done.
Advantage: Belichick.
Idiotic moves: Norv Turner. NORV CALLED ALL OF THE OFFENSIVE PLAYS.
In big games, go for touch downs.
Bottom line - grab defeat from the jaws of victory.
Oh - wait 'till next year - AGAIN.
Will someone explain why it says that Norv Turner should be given a raise on the Fire Norv site?
HELLO??????????????????????
Especially after his bonehead not going for it in the big game on
4th down.
No raise for Norv. A pay cut would be more in line with his judgment.
Jackson improving that much because of Chambers being there? So Lofton now gets no credit for what he did. Chambers gave Lofton A LOT OF CREDIT for his coaching job. He seemed to be doing a good job and was shocked when he was fired as was the press and most Chargers fans AND the PLAYERS.
Well Mr. Newby. The only reason I have that is because I promised I would if he got to the AFC Champ game. Guess your new around here.
Norv's a bonehead.
Haha! Nobody's laughing at Eli now. I guess that he made the right decision after all in going to New York and not the cesspool known as San Diego, CA. The Giants are champs, and the Chargers are once again chumps. Bwahahahahahahaha. Eli! Eli! Eli! Eli! Eli! Eli! Next year it's the Manning Bowl!
